If you’re looking to make your home in Whistler or anywhere in BC, more energy-efficient, BC offers a variety of rebates and incentives to help make these upgrades more affordable.

Read on for a breakdown of some of the of the best options available when it comes to rebates and saving money along the way.


BC Hydro Rebates

  • Heat Pump Rebates: You can receive up to $3,000 when switching from fossil fuel heating (natural gas, oil, or propane) to an electric heat pump. This includes a $1,500 rebate from CleanBC and a $1,500 top-up from BC Hydro.  Check it out here.

  • Insulation Rebates: Up to $5,500 is available for upgrading your home’s insulation.  More information here.

  • Window and Door Rebates: Earn up to $2,000 for replacing windows and doors with energy-efficient models.  Learn more here.


CleanBC Better Homes Program


  • Heat Pump Rebates: Rebates for switching from fossil fuels to all-electric heat pumps ended on April 11, 2025. However, if you completed the work or received quotes before this date, you may still be eligible. 

  • Dual Fuel Heating System Rebate: As of May 1, 2025, the rebate amount for installing a dual fuel heating system (electric heat pump combined with a gas furnace) has changed to $5,000. To apply for the previous $10,000 rebate, installations must have been completed by April 30, 2025, with specific documentation requirements. 

  • Insulation and Window/Door Rebates: Up to $5,500 for insulation and $2,000 for windows and doors are still available. 

  • Home Energy Improvement Bonus: Receive up to $2,000 when you complete multiple energy-efficient upgrades.

FortisBC Rebates

  • Natural Gas Furnace Rebates: Up to $2,000 is available for installing a high-efficiency natural gas furnace. An additional $1,000 bonus is offered for customers who pre-qualify and connect to natural gas.  Find out more here.

  • Natural Gas Water Heater Rebates: Receive up to $800 for upgrading to an energy-efficient natural gas water heater.  Details available here.

  • Natural Gas Wall Furnace Rebate: A rebate of $1,000, plus a $200 bonus for eligible installations completed by March 31, 2026, is available for direct vent natural gas wall furnaces. 




Income-Qualified Programs

  • Energy Savings Program: Eligible low- to moderate-income households can receive up to $24,500 for heat pump installations, including electrical upgrades.  More details here.

  • Free Home Energy Evaluation and Upgrades: Income-qualified customers may be eligible for free energy evaluations and the installation of energy-saving products through FortisBC’s Energy Conservation Assistance Program.  Details here.





EnerGuide Home Energy Evaluations

  • An EnerGuide Home Energy Evaluation is essential for accessing many rebates. Certified energy advisors assess your home’s energy performance and provide recommendations for improvements. 

  • Capital Home Energy offers EnerGuide evaluations and serves areas including Vancouver, the Lower Mainland, Squamish, Whistler, Pemberton, the Sunshine Coast, and Vancouver Island. 

By taking advantage of these programs, you can make your home more energy-efficient, comfortable, and environmentally friendly—all while saving money on energy bills.
